A new restriction on California gun purchasers has taken effect as of January 1, 2024. No person is allowed to purchase more than one firearm, which includes completed frames and receivers and firearm precursor parts, within any 30-day period.
Previously, the law only applied to centerfire rifles and handguns. Now the 1 in 30 day law applies to any firearm purchase.
To make matters worse, the law changes again on January 1, 2025 to include private party transactions.
Key Takeaway
DROS checks are being returned as “REJECTED” for multiple firearm purchases.
